How Does it Work?

Using innovative implant strategies, we can place a full arch of teeth onto just four or more dental implants. This rehabilitative method can be used to restore teeth on both your upper and lower jaws, giving you a new smile that looks a lot like your natural teeth.

Here’s how it works:

• PRE-OP

Our dentist will assess your oral health by taking scans and X-rays to determine if you’re a good candidate for All-on-4. This involves checking the quality and quantity of your jawbone, as the implants need to anchor securely. We’ll need all of this information to map out and plan a successful treatment plan

During this visit, we will answer any questions you have and schedule your next treatment which is usually broken up into three separate visits.

• IMPLANT PLACEMENT

At this visit, we will numb the areas of your mouth where the implants are being placed and then create a small opening to set them into the bone. Implant surgery is a minimally invasive procedure with a relatively rapid recovery. After each of the four implants are placed, we take an impression of your mouth so the lab can begin designing the teeth to go on top of them.

Although this visit can be completed with a small amount of local anaesthetic, some people prefer to schedule the procedure under sedation or general anaesthesia, especially where more complex bone surgery or extensive extractions are required. We are happy to discuss your preferences to ensure the most relaxing experience possible.

• TRY IN

Before crafting the permanent portion of your smile design, we’ll have a wax-up model to give you a preview of what to expect. At this visit, you can try the temporary prosthesis and make adjustments as necessary (such as the shape and colour of the teeth). This appointment will usually take place around 24-48 hours after having your implants installed.

We also do a further try-in of your waxed-up bridge/s before completion. All these measures are taken to ensure the optimum satisfaction on your part. It will to ensure your confidence and satisfaction with the new prosthetic teeth and will give you an idea of what your new smile will look like before we craft the final version.

• DELIVERY

The final prosthesis design is inserted and permanently attached on top of your implant abutments. As soon as this brief visit is completed, you’ll have an entirely new look!

Thanks to fewer implants being needed (rather than one for each missing tooth,) All-on-4 is easier to clean and maintain while making the overall process as streamlined as possible.
